Welcome

Welcome to Backing the Line; a First Responder Chaplaincy Ministry. Backing the Line (BtL) provides physical, mental, emotional and spiritual support to Law Enforcement, Fire personnel, EMS, Dispatch, and their support staff.  BtL stands in the gap for the men and women who selflessly sacrifice while protecting our communities, whether in the midst of critical incidents or everyday stress. What do we do? Take a look…

Community Partners

Backing the Line is all about community partnerships. Without our Community Partners, we would not be able to do what we do! We are thrilled to link to those who support our First Responder Family.

BtL in the Community

Our mission at Backing the Line, is to come alongside our First Responder Community and support them in multiple areas. Nobody Stands Alone!

Our BtL bracelets are a huge hit everywhere we go. We LOVE sharing our mission with anybody who will listen. First Responders, their friends and families all LOVE our bracelets. But beyond that, are the many people all over the nation who PROUDLY wear our bracelets! Kids, adults, professionals, students…etc….NOBODY STANDS ALONE! Ready for a BtL bracelet? Click on our “Contact Us” page and give us your address in the big box. We’ll send it right out!

BtL & Office of Emergency Services

Office of Emergency Services (OES) coordinates the overall county response to disasters. OES is responsible for alerting and notifying appropriate agencies when disaster strikes; coordinating all agencies that respond; ensuring resources are available and mobilized in times of disaster; developing plans and procedures for response to and recovery from disasters; and developing and providing preparedness materials for the public.

OES staffs the Operational Area Emergency Operations Center (a central facility which provides regional coordinated emergency response), and also acts as staff to the Unified Disaster Council(UDC), a joint powers agreement between all 18 incorporated cities and the County of San Diego. The UDC provides for coordination of plans and programs countywide to ensure protection of life and property.
